Knots Swimwear is a Colombian-Australian brand inspired by the handcrafted beauty of macramé and the rich symbolism of Muisca culture. Designed for 25- to 40-year-olds who value craftsmanship, culture and sustainability, the brand blends sophistication with earthy elements, offering swimwear that invites customers to embrace every wave.
Challenge
The client wanted to introduce a handmade Colombian swimwear label to an Australian audience unfamiliar with its cultural roots. The challenge was to create a minimal, modern identity that still felt authentic and rich in story, while reflecting eco-conscious values and high-quality craftsmanship.
Solution
I developed a visual identity that balanced earthy textures, subtle greens inspired by Colombian landscapes, and custom patterns drawn from Muisca hieroglyphs. The macramé-inspired logo added a tactile, handcrafted feel. Across packaging, posters and digital assets, every detail connected the product with the culture and the hands behind it.
